Astro Maper

How we calculate your astrocartography

In short: exact planetary positions from the Swiss Ephemeris, their projection onto the world map and an honest ranking of cities for your goal.

1. Planetary positions

From your date, time and place of birth we convert the moment of birth to universal time, using the historical time zones and daylight saving time of that place. An hour's error would shift every line by 15° of longitude — so the time zone comes from the coordinates, not a guess.

The positions of the Sun, the Moon and the eight planets are calculated with the Swiss Ephemeris — the same library professional astrology software runs on.

2. Forty lines

For every planet we find four lines: where it was at the top of the sky (MC) and at the bottom (IC) — these are meridians — and where it was rising (AC) and setting (DC) — curves that depend on latitude. 10 planets × 4 angles = 40 lines.

3. Distance to a line

A line's influence fades with distance: within 150 km at full strength, up to 400 km noticeably, up to 700 km in the background. Distances to the curved lines are measured over the Earth's surface, not in a straight line on a flat map.

4. Cities and goals

Every line has scores in four areas — money, love, energy, career (50 is neutral). Your goal weighs them differently: for love, love counts most; for money, money and career; for a move, a bit of everything.

We score 338 cities in 98 countries — capitals, big cities and resorts — and choose the best for your goal so they don't repeat each other. Cities near difficult lines go on the blacklist.

What astrocartography can't do

It doesn't predict events and doesn't guarantee results. A line makes something easier or harder — you do the rest. We don't give medical, financial or legal advice.
