Astrocartography FAQ

It's a method that maps your birth chart onto the world map. For each of the 10 planets it finds where the planet was on the Midheaven, the IC, the Ascendant and the Descendant at the moment of your birth — 40 lines in all. Near each line its own theme comes through more strongly: career, home, energy, relationships. The method was developed by astrologer Jim Lewis in the 1970s.

From your date, time and place of birth we calculate the positions of the 10 planets (Swiss Ephemeris) and project them onto the world map. The lines show where different themes come through more strongly: money, love, energy. It's a tool for reflection and for choosing places, not a guarantee of results.

Free: your map of 40 lines, a reading of the city you live in and one of your power places. The atlas adds your top 3 cities for your goal with their maps and readings, places 4–10, the best places near you, your blacklist and all 40 lines with their cities.

Pick an approximate time of day — the map will show countries and regions. For the exact city, your time within ±30 minutes matters: it's often on your birth certificate, or ask your family.

The planetary positions come from the Swiss Ephemeris — the accuracy of professional software. The main source of error is the birth time: the Earth turns 1° every 4 minutes, so the more exact your time, the more exact your lines.
